One of the most treasured and well-read Christmas stories is Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We love the simple, timeless and meaningful message that Christmas and all that encompasses this time of year, can’t be purchased or packaged.
In the spirit of the season, the Segerstrom Center for the Arts will present Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical. This live adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ esteemed book will warm the hearts of families this holiday season as they relive this classic with nostalgic musical performances to include “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas.”
Max the Dog stars as the narrator and sidekick to The Grinch, who decides to steal Christmas from the Whos. Featuring brilliant, Holiday-esque set designs and costumes, an original score by Mel Marvin and lyrics and book by Timothy Mason, audiences young and old will treasure this new rendition of Dr. Seuss’ enduring classic.
Tickets for Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical begin at $29 and can be purchased online at SCFTA.org, in person at the Box Office or via phone by calling 714.556.2787. Be sure to arrive early (up to 1 hour before showtime) to enjoy Grinch-inspired activities including the opportunity to hear acclaimed storyteller Jim Cogan bring this well-loved story to life along with other Dr. Seuss tales in an interactive storytelling experience. Audiences can enjoy two readings one hour before showtime at the Balcony Level lobby of Segerstrom Hall. There will also be Holiday photo opportunities at the Orchestra Terrace Level lobby featuring a sleigh with Max the Reindeer on display. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical will perform at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts December 10th-14th. Be sure to grab tickets ASAP since there are only 10 outstanding performances.
