The timeless Disney classic which told the story of a banished beast and the young woman who looked beyond the exterior to find the good within him, won the hearts of young and old more than 20 years ago. Due in part, to its commercial success and numerous award nominations, Beauty and the Beast became Disney’s first animated film to be adapted in to a Broadway musical.
The musical has performed in 22 countries around the globe, and for the first time, Beauty and the Beast will come to life on-stage at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Featuring an Academy Award-winning score with music by Alan Menken, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will tell the story of Belle and how her love transformed a prince. Trapped under a spell that transforms the young prince into a Beast, he must learn to love and be loved. Through Belle’s kindness and persistence in looking past the exterior, the love between them grows.
