Cinderella was one of the very first films I watched as a child. The story is timeless…a simple, orphan girl growing up under the ruling of a cruel stepmother. Her sisters are no better, ordering her to labor endlessly. Despite the evil that surrounds her, she remains optimistic, believing that one day her wishes will come true.
As the Royal Ball approaches, an invitation is sent, and Cinderella believes this is the day her dreams will finally come true. But her stepsisters will stop at nothing to shatter those dreams. Cinderella is a brilliant masterpiece which has received three Academy Award nominations and been deemed the 9th greatest film in animation. On October 2nd, Disney will release Cinderella from The Vault for a limited time. The special Blu-ray Diamond Edition Collection will feature enhanced picture and sound and a host of bonus features including never-before-seen material, interactive activities and games, and more.

Bibbidi-Bobbidi-You
This second screen personalized digital storybook was made for the princess at home. Once you’ve downloaded the free app (iPad, iPhone), simply begin playing the film. Then launch Disney Second Screen and the app will synch with the Blu-ray to begin the interactive experience.
The Fairy Godmother will guide you through the experience, bouncing back and forth between the two screens. With a backdrop of watercolor images, Bibbidi Bobbidi You will take you through the story of Cinderella in an engaging, more personal way. You’ll also have the opportunity to play games, which extend the experience.
The Real Fairy Godmother
One of the things I learned while at Disney’s Animation Research Library is that The Fairy Godmother isn’t simply a made-up character. Now viewers can learn about the visual inspiration for Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, who touched many lives through her kindness.
Additionally, you’ll get the opportunity to see a never before seen alternate opening sequence featuring Cinderella telling her mice and bird friends about her busy day, go behind the scenes with Disney’s Imagineers to discover the new Fantasyland at Walt Disney World, and see Tangled Ever After, an animated short inspired by the original film.
Cinderealla: Diamond Edition is available on Blu-ray October 2nd, 2012.
