Discover Your Passions With Nissan’s Latest App Giveaway

If you follow me on social media, you know that food, photography, and travel are a few of my passions (if you don’t count the two cutest kiddos in my life), some of which were discovered through the life of this blog. Even now in my mid-30’s, my passions are changing and evolving and I’m constantly learning new things about myself. I remember a time as a young 20-something year old woman pondering life’s question “Who Am I?” and more importantly, “Who Do I Want to Become?” My 20-something year old answers were rigid and fixed… These days they are more fluid and derived from my life experiences.

At a time where technology and social media are integral parts of our day-to-day lives comes a fun new campaign from Nissan which aims to help people discover the passions that drive their lives. Since I was curious to see how accurate the Passion Genome is, I headed over to the site to create my very own Passion Portrait. Navigating the site was easy and simply required connecting my Facebook account and selecting a photo to use. After a few seconds, here are the areas the app identified as stand-out passions:

Travel

Movies & TV

Food & Drink

The Internet

I think the app was spot on in identifying what I’m truly passionate about. When my family and I took our very first trip to Europe, my perspective on the world was broadened. I found myself longing to see other parts of the world, immersing myself in the people, food and cultures of different countries. My husband and I eventually moved to Europe for an extended period of time because we wanted experience life outside of our comfort zone.

When my children were born and I began paying attention to the foods we were purchasing, I realized that I only wanted the best for my family, so I delved into refining my cooking skills. I also learned that eating is so much more than a necessary part of sustaining us…it is an experience that unites our family, allowing us to bond and create memories together.

When an unexpected life circumstance changed what I thought would be my future, I was forced to grow up quickly. I learned to be comfortable with myself and actually began relishing afternoons at our local tea house or Friday evenings at the theater. I also realized how much more connected I felt to the characters and their stories when I watched a movie alone.

If you look at the individual portrait generated by the app, you’ll see a piece of artwork created by DJ Neff and Ricardo “Apex” Richey for Nissan. The original mural is located in Los Angeles and I hope to see it in person in the coming weeks.

Earlier this year, I spent a few days with Nissan testing out their brand new 2014 Versa Note. The two stand-out features I was most impressed with were its efficiency (an impressive combined fuel economy 40 MPG) and its highly roomy interior with capacity for 5 passengers.
