Even as a baby, my son was fascinated with “things that go.” His love of trains only slightly waned when he started Kindergarten, simply for lack of time. But our collection of trains and tracks is abundant and my son still enjoys zooming his locomotives ’round the track.
A few years back, our family took a day trip to Fillmore to spend a Day Out With Thomas. For little boys like my son, it was a dream to ride the infamous Tank Engine and spend the day interacting with the characters from the show.
This November, Thomas returns to Southern California for a 5-day tour. Southern California families are invited to the Orange Empire Railway Museum for the 2013 Go Go Day Out With Thomas Tour. These day-long events promote family togetherness while inspiring a love of railroading. Here is what you can expect at this year’s Day Out With Thomas Tour.
When: November 9, 10, 11, 16, and 17
Where: Orange Empire Railway Museum, 2201 S A St, Perris, CA 92570
Cost: $19 for a 25-minute ride (ages 2 and up)
Activities: Thomas and Friends storytelling, meet and greet with Sir Topham Hatt, Thomas and Friends Imagination Station (train table play area and arts/crafts), petting zoo, bounce house, entertainment by Jules Music 4 Kids, caboose train and trolley rides.

We were able to take our now 7yo to Day Out With Thomas; it would be wonderful to take his 3yo brother! Little brother was just asking if he could ride a train some day & he watches Thomas all the time!
