CVS/pharmacy Launches Interactive iPad App With 3D Virtual Store and Pharmacy

As a working mom, I’ve had to refine my multi-tasking skills in order to have time to accomplish everything I need and want to do with the least amount of stress. My mobile and tablet devices have become an integral part of my ability to get things done from practically anywhere. From simple things like making lists or keeping track of each of our schedules, to more complex tasks such as paying bills, mobile and table applications have brilliantly streamlined tasks that typically take up quite a bit of time.

I’ve always taken control of our family’s health needs, partly because of my education and training as an RN. As Americans continue to become more educated and autonomous over their healthcare, they will need the resources and tools to make this process easy and achievable. CVS/pharmacy recently launched an innovative new iPad app that immerses customers in a virtual, 3D CVS/pharmacy where they can then manage prescriptions, locate the closest MinuteClinic and the services provided, browse their local store’s weekly ad, shop, and view ExtraCare savings and rewards.

I downloaded the free iPad app earlier this week and was quite impressed with its interactivity and ease of use. When you first launch the app, you’ll see a virtual CVS/Pharmacy:

The main areas you’ll want to check out include Photo, Pharmacy, MinuteClinic, ExtraCare, and Shopping.

While the app is intuitive, you might want to take a quick tutorial before getting started.

Even though I know exactly where my closest CVS/pharmacy is, it is helpful to have the store locator easily accessible via the app for times when I’m traveling or visiting my family.

Manage each of your family’s prescriptions via the app including scheduling refills and checking the status of those available for pick-up. I particularly like the scan-in function for inputting refills.

Our family is very familiar with our local MinuteClinic, which has been a lifesaver for weekends and after hour sick visits.

This “app” within the app makes it easy to manage your Extra Care savings and rewards. Check balances, sign up for additional programs (Beauty Club, ExtraCare Advantage for Diabetes, ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards), and check out the latest coupons and offers personalized for you. Once you’ve selected those that you’re interested in you can send them to your card for use in-stores.

Before you plan your next shopping trip, be sure to peruse your local ad. You can even build shopping lists and share them with family members. This is a huge timesaver!
