Celebrate the Release of Epic With Free Nature-Inspired Printables *Giveaway*

Posted by Caryn Bailey 31 Comments

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Lisa E. Congrats!

The best films are those that allow my husband and I the opportunity to have real discussions with our children, long after the credits roll.  It’s not often that we’re surprised by an animated film, yet Epic, with it’s lush nature-inspired beauty and unique vantage point was an unexpected delight!

Epic Blu-ray

As a family, we’re always weaving subtle messages about our carbon footprint into conversations with our children…my children turn off lights and water, “recycle” with our guidance, and have some knowledge about being “green.”  As we watched the film, my son made comments here and there which confirmed he understood the deeper messages conveyed to audiences.

Epic

Epic follows the story of M.K., (Mary Katherine) a teen who finds a much smaller version of herself transported to a magical world inhabited by tiny, mostly unseen creatures. Recruited by nature spirit Queen Tara, M.K. must help save the Leafmen from evil warriors threatening the forest and their existence.  Filled with adventure, humor, and several poignant, thought-provoking moments, Epic is an inspiring film that teaches children about relationships and the importance of taking care of nature.

The film was recently released on Blu-ray and DVD and features the Epic Coloring and Storybook Build app which allows kids the ability to create their own story to share with family and friends.  Our favorite features of the Blu-ray include The Epic Life at Two Inches Tall, which offers an overview of what it would be like to be just 2 inches tall, Bugs of Camouflage, which teaches children how bugs use their environment to hide, and Birds, Bugs, and Slugs: Forest Explorer, which takes audiences into the forest to meet the real-life counterpart insects from the film.

To celebrate the release, enjoy these exclusive printable activities to continue engaging in Epic family adventures all summer long!

Epic is the result of the collaborative teamwork between Twentieth Century Fox, Blue Sky Studios, and Dreamworks Animation and their combined talent brings magnificent, highly detailed worlds like that seen in Epic, to life. Take a look back at some of the other worlds this team has created:
