Celebrate Thanksgiving With Knott’s Berry Farm’s Holiday Meals

Posted by Caryn Bailey 1 Comment

I love walking into stores and restaurants right after Halloween because they’re transformed with color and warmth for the season. Despite the fact that we’re often rushed during this time of year, it’s a different type of busyness.  I’m beginning to decorate, plan our family get-togethers, shop, and think about the meals we’ll be serving, specifically for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

As is typical, we’ll be visiting family across the country during the holidays and flying home on Thanksgiving day.  You can imagine how uninspired both my husband and I feel about cooking a large, gourmet meal the day we get home.  So rather than stress about this detail, we’ll be ordering our Thanksgiving meal already-prepped. This relieves some of the travel stress we’ll be experiencing and frees us up to spend quality time with our family.

Mrs. Knott's Chicken inner Restaurant

Last week, Thanksgiving came early for our family. We were gifted with a Take Home Thanksgiving Dinner courtesy of Knott’s Berry Farm that included generous portions of the most popular foods served during this time of year. The meal, which will be available for pick-up on the 22nd, includes the following dishes, each of which will serve 6-8 people:

Complete 12-14 lb. Turkey or Honey Glazed Ham
1 Quart of Country Apple Stuffing
2 Quarts of Mashed Potatoes
1 Quart of Candied Yams
8 oz. of Cranberry Sauce
8 oz. of Bread and Butter Pickles
1 Quart of Whole Kernel Corn
1 Dozen Farm Baked Rolls
Butter and Boysenberry Preserves
Choice of Boysenberry Pie or Pumpkin Pie

The meal comes fully cooked and Knott’s makes every effort to ensure the meal is hot and ready to eat when picked up, however, reheating may be necessary and those instructions are provided.

Picking up the meal was easy and convenient.  On Thanksgiving Day, there will be a designated area where guests can drive and receive their meal without having to leave their car.  This process shouldn’t take more than a few minutes but you’ll want to order your meal online in advance.

Knott's Thanksgiving Feast

The meal comes packaged nicely in this box to ensure everything stays warm, fresh, and contained. When we first opened the box, I was incredibly surprised at how much food there was. I definitely think that it can extend beyond the 6-8 serving suggestion.

Thanksgiving Turkey

The turkey is generous in size and includes gravy which can also be use on the mashed potatoes, however our family typically serves cranberry sauce with turkey and it’s nice that this is also included in the meal.

Thanksgiving Side Dishes

The stuffing has a nice flavor and compliments the turkey well. I have to admit that I’m not a huge fan of candied yams so I’m not entirely sure how they should be prepared but these were flavorful and not overwhelmingly sweet. The corn is fresh and whole kernel which I prefer (as opposed to the sweet corn). I like the fact that even small details like butter and jam were included with the rolls. My son’s favorite part? The pickles which I think is a unique addition to the meal!

Pumpkin Pie

The celebration at the end of a Thanksgiving meal is always a pumpkin pie and Knott’s did not disappoint. I always tend to be very traditional when it comes to Thanksgiving dessert, but if you want to be a bit adventurous, try the Boysenberry Pie!

Family

We had a wonderful meal thanks to Knott’s!

The total cost of the meal is $99.95+tax and can be ordered at Knott’s.com or by calling 714.220.5055.

Knott's Merry FarmIf you would rather go out for Thanksgiving (we’ve done this many times over the years), you can opt for the Thanksgiving Champagne Brunch at Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. The buffet will include carving stations with roasted prime rib of beef, turkey and ham; holiday classics including Mrs. Knott’s fried chicken, country apple stuffing; a South of the Border station with cheese enchiladas and tamales; pasta station; dessert station and more. While reservations are not required, they are strongly recommended and you can do so by calling 714.220.5055. Additionally, the restaurant will offer their traditional Thanksgiving Holiday Menu and reservations are not required.

Whether you’ll be hosting family at home or prefer to celebrate out, Knott’s Berry Farm offers a variety of ways to help you make the most of your Thanksgiving celebration.

No compensation was received for this post. Thank you to Knott’s who provided the Thanksgiving Meal.
