Holiday specials are all about family, and I’m big on family. Every Christmas, my mother, father, and I would decorate the Christmas tree to the sound of Bing Crosby on my father’s record player. My mom and I would bake cookies while the smell of spices permeated our home. By the end of the Thanksgiving weekend, we’d already decorated our home and watched several of our favorite Christmas specials on TV. Family and togetherness is what I remember about our holidays together and how I’ve approached traditions with my own kids.
The cooler weather, shorter days, and the approaching holiday season compel many families to spend time together. The busyness of the season also inspires us to find ways to slow down and connect as a family. One of our favorite Christmas traditions includes watching the Best Holiday Specials on TV. I’ve complied our top favorites for your viewing pleasure!

Gotta add a Muppets Christmas Carol here. Or do you have a particular favorite Christmas Carol? Plus It’s a Wonderful Life… I can’t imagine that one. Or White Christmas with the aforementioned Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye? Or should I go back to Holiday Inn where White Christmas was first sung with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire?
