Banana Nut Cheerios Review & Giveaway

Posted by Caryn Bailey 379 Comments

bncheerios

This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks for stopping by.  The winners are Christina S, Alice, and Gina Stratos.  Congratulations!

I have been eating Cheerios since I was a little girl and now my son eats it every day.  In fact, it’s really one of the only cereals I let him eat.  And that’s because many “kids'” cereals are 50% sugar.  If you’re familiar with the brand, then you know that they have several different varieties (my favorite being Honey Nut Cheerios).  The company has just added Banana Nut Cheerios to their lineup and we were fortunate to get a first taste!  I was a little concerned that it would be too sweet or unnatural but it was surprisingly good.  My son LOVES bananas, so of course he loved this version of his favorite cereal.  It tastes just like Cheerios but with the flavor of bananas and a hint of nuts.  It maintains it’s crunch (even in milk) and at only 100 calories per serving, it’s a sensible way to start your day.  The entire line of Cheerios products are made with whole grains and this version packs twelve vitamins and minerals.  It has 9 grams of sugar (fortunately not derived from high fructose corn syrup) and 1 gram of fat which makes it much healthier than most cereals on the market.

Right now you can download a coupon which will save you $.55 on your purchase of Banana Nut Cheerios.  If you head on over to the site you’ll find fun banana facts, the benefits of bananas, and some recipes that sound amazing!

Win It! Three of you will win a Banana Nut Cheerios gift basket which includes a box of Banana Nut Cheerios, a fruit basket/banana holder, 2 cereal bowls and a bread pan.  Simply head on over to the site and tell me the name of your favorite variety of Cheerios (other than Original and Banana Nut) AND a recipe you’d like to try from the site.  Comments will close on March 30, 2009 at 10 PM PST.  One comment per person, please. I’d forgotten how good the Honey Nut Cheerios were, and so when we returned home (though we hated to leave the island), I stocked up and this is now my evening snack!
