Back to School Organizing With Dymo’s Label Manager *Giveaway*

Posted by Caryn Bailey 175 Comments

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by! The winner is Tammy D. Congrats!!

I get excited about products that make my life easier…things like innovative storage solutions and label makers. You don’t have to be The Fly Lady to get organized, although I do recommend checking out some of her tips!

Since it’s inevitable that children will lose things (even I lose things and I’m an adult!), I label as many of my son’s items as possible.  There are several companies who’s labels I absolutely adore.  But how convenient would it be if I could make the labels myself?

DYMO, a company offering innovative products for the home, the office and the classroom, is helping parents get organized with their label makers.  We’ve been using their DYMO Label Manager 260p to label everything from our file folders to my son’s lunchbox.

If you’ve read some of my more “techie” posts, then you know how I like to see if I can use the product without ever opening the manual.  I cheated a bit. I asked my husband (who didn’t read the manual!).  The device is actually very easy to use.  You can create quality, personalized, labels on 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2” easy-peel split-back DYMO D1 labels.  Choose from three fonts, six font sizes, seven text styles, boxes and underlining.  The device will store up to nine labels an can print up to ten copies of a label.

The Label Manager is compact and lightweight which means you it won’t take up a lot of desk space.  It’s also portable and rechargeable and at $65.99, it’s a great investment.  The only thing I’d love to see is the option for colors and perhaps characters (i.e. smiley faces, animals, etc.) to make labels for children.

Be sure to check out DYMO’s complete line of embossers, label makers, postage solutions, software, and more.  I’ve been eying CardScan to help organize all of the contact information I receive at events and conferences.

Win It! One of you will win a DYMO Label Manager 260p.  Simply leave me a comment with either another product you like from the site OR a feature from one of their label managers that you think will help you with your organizational needs. Comments will close on September 28th, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.Want an extra entry? Do any or all of the following and receive an extra entry for each one.

OMG! I looooooove label makers and have two of my own already. ; ) The thing I’m really digging about the 260p is that there are a few fonts to choose from. The devices I own only have one boring font. I also love the cute little boxes around the words.

    Hope I win!

Anyway, I’d also go for the DYMO LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo Dual Roll Label and Postage Printer for PC and Mac® as it would save me time and trouble of firing up the huge laser printer and changing out the paper to stamp sheets and/or mailing labels.

The feature I like best on their label managers is the easy-peel split-back labels. OMGosh, the one I have now doesn’t have that and it is so frustrating and time wasting trying to peel the back off!
