Why so many shoes? I imagine that might be a question forming as you read the title of this post. Honestly, I’ve always been a “shoe” girl. My husband is constantly trying to bribe me into getting rid of a pair of shoes…ANY pair would suffice. The problem is, I have shoes for different occasions…and perhaps so do you. But we’re talking about children, right? Every child has their own “feet.” Some have wide feet, some have narrow feet. Some have bigger feet, some have smaller feet. And some are right there in the middle. Rather than tell you which shoes to buy for your child (which I would never do), I’d rather tell you about our experiences with a few companies, and let you decide from there.
We recently had an opportunity to review a pair of Little Caesar shoes from Pedoodles. The shoes are soft, which (as I mentioned previously) is best for developing feet. Ideally (again, as I’ve mentioned before) growing feet develop best when babies and tots go barefoot. However, when it comes to practicality (i.e., going outside) I want my children wearing shoes once they start walking. Pedoodles has an entire section on children’s feet including how they develop and proper footwear. The information is very informative and I highly recommend checking it out before you purchase a pair of shoes for your little tot’s feet! The four recommendations are that shoes be soft and flexible, lightweight, breathable, and flat. The shoes from Pedoodles fit the bill in all of the above categories. “If you were a kid, these would be the shoes you want. Soft, stylish, and durable — Pedoodles have it all.”
One of the first things I noticed about the shoes was the price. They run around the mid-$30 range which is fantastic for quality shoes. The Little Caesar shoes are eco-friendly which means they’re constructed from “eco-friendly” premium leather remanants and are free from lead, antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, mercury, selenium, and harmful amines. The soles are made with recycled materials. The “eco-mom” in me loves this! The soles are extremely flexible and I appreciate the traction on them to prevent falls. They’re lightweight and breathable and comfortable. I know that because my son takes off shoes he doesn’t like wearing. They’re easy to get on and off, thanks to the velcro closure. And they’re adorably fashionable! I think they have a nice selection for boys but the girl’s selection is my favorite (hmmm…for our little girl perhaps?).
Pedoodles manufactures shoes for babies and tots 0-4 years of age. Some of their styles are on sale so check them out if you’re shopping for new shoes this school year!
