A few weeks ago, I attended a media screening of Babies, a unique film that chronicles the lives of four infants across the globe. The film premieres this weekend in honor of Mother’s Day.
The movie is bold, poignant, and inspirational. It will challenge your parental stereotypes and broaden your perspectives on parenting. Babies, which is being released by Focus Features, takes audiences on a journey (baby steps if you will) to Namibia, Mongolia, San Francisco and Tokyo…from first breath to first steps. While there are many cultural differences surrounding parenting, each baby’s journey is still very much universal and understood. Here is a short trailer:
If you’re in the Los Angeles area, you can see a premiere of the movie at The Egyptian Theatere (sponsored by The Pump Station & Nurtury) this Wednesday at 7:30 pm.

Little Ponijao has captured my heart…
I am anxious to see this movie. There is nothing more delightful then watching children. They do some of the silliest things.I’m sure it will be a hit.

I’d love to see the movie. From seeing the trailer, it challenges stereotypes and norms. It is just fascinating to watch babies in any culture as they discover their surroundings. And it’s interesting to see just what parents do and how they handle things differently given their surroundings and upbringing.
