In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a bit of a Disney fan. My parents said they started taking me to Disneyland when I was around 2 (I have the pictures, complete with Mickey Mouse ears as proof!). We have annual passes and the benefit of living in the OC is that we can go for even just a few hours and my son has a blast. The park is just magical…particularly around the holidays. I can’t wait until they put their gorgeous tree up and decorate!
Some things are so familiar and unchanged…even from many, many years ago. And yet so much is new and exciting and changing all the time. Last month I attended D23 and posted about my experience. One of my favorite exhibits was the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Pavilion. We had the opportunity to preview never-before-seen models of what’s to come at Walt Disney Parks across the globe.
I have to admit that I didn’t even know there was a Disneyland in Hong Kong. And apparently they’re expanding!
And, I’m hoping my hubby will surprise me with a trip to the Ko Olina Resort in Hawaii. Although I’d settle for a Disney Cruise!
Did you know that in 2012, Cars Land will open at Disney’s California Adventure? This 12-acre rendition of the town of Radiator Springs will glean inspiration from the hit Disney•Pixar film “Cars.” “Cars Land will feature three family attractions including Radiator Springs Racers (one of the largest and most elaborate attractions ever created for a Disney park), Luigi’s Flying Tires and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree.”
What else is planned for Disney’s California Adventure? While we were at Mickey’s Trick or Treat Party last weekend, I saw construction already underway for The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure which debuts in 2011. Our little girl will be the perfect age (or so we hope!) to experience this.
But I know…that seems so far away…what about NOW? Well, in the spring (which is only a few months away), “World of Color will bring nighttime excitement to Paradise Pier with a panorama of spectacular water effects, dancing fountains and music that will bring Disney animation to life with a new creative and technical approach.” Fountains are going to come to life as they shoot from thirty feet to as high as 200 feet in the sky. I can’t wait to see this show!!!!
Be sure to check out the official site here!
In other news, I hope you’ve had a chance to enjoy Disney’s birthday gift to you (your free day at the park!). While the year is quickly come to an end, 2010 boasts and even better promotion: “Give a Day. Get a Disney Day.” Volunteer and you’ll be rewarded with a day at a Disney Park (Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort). Will you be one of the one million to do a good deed in 2010?
And if that isn’t enough, Disneyland is jumping on the social media bandwagon. They’ve officially launched a blog (oooh!!) which will give you the inside scoop on the resort. It’s packed with information about the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line. Be sure to follow @DisneyParks and @DisneylandNews on Twitter for the latest!
Halloween is right around the corner. And that means Halloween Time is here (but not for much longer!). We’re planning on bringing my son this week to experience all of the festivities. Stay tuned…

That’s awesome Caryn! I had no idea they were coming out with a Cars Land – wow!!
As you know, I, too am a HUGE Disney fan. We are just as close to Disney WORLD as you are to the Land… and we too go all the time, even for a few hours. Isn’t it the greatest thing??? We, too just love it around the holidays and cannot wait for our Disney tree here in Florida to go up.
We hope some day to get over to your Disney and visit, as we have never been there… I hope you can bring your little one to ours, as I am sure they would love it!
Can’t wait to celebrate our Disney holidays together with yours.
