All About Baby: Lil Baby Cakes

Posted by Caryn Bailey 2 Comments

When I was pregnant with my son, 2 of my very best friends threw me an incredible baby shower.  It was a tea-themed shower and each of the tables were adorned with diaper cakes the girls had made themselves by hand.  The girls spent a LOT of time, money, and effort making those cakes. Along with the basics they needed for the cakes (diapers, etc.), they also had to purchase adornments such as ribbon, glue guns, etc.  While I think they did a fantastic job, I don’t know that I have the time, energy or skill to complete such a project.  I do, however, think diaper cakes make for a lovely table decor and benefit the mother-to-be tremendously.

Lil Baby Cakes offers gorgeous, quality diaper cakes in a variety of styles.  In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen a company that offers as many design options as they do.  They even offer cloth diaper cakes for moms who are eco-conscious.  Each diaper cake includes 40-110 Pampers Swaddlers or Pampers brand diapers (number depends on size of cake), baby shampoo, baby powder, diaper cream, cotton swabs, and baby wash cloths (although the actual items may vary from cake to cake).  Larger and custom diaper cakes can include receiving blankets, bottles, toys, etc.

diapercake-safari-giraffe-4tier-jumboWhen the cake came, I was impressed with how beautifully put together it was.  It was wrapped in tulle and ribbon and could have been placed on a table or given as a gift just as it arrived out of the box.  I received the 4 Tier Safari Diaper Cake, which is one of their most popular cakes.  It includes 70 Pampers brand Swaddlers diapers size 1-2, Soft Plush Giraffe Animal, Johnson & Johnson’s Bodywash, Lotion, Baby Powder & Shampoo, Two Washcloths For Babies, Pacifier, Cotton Swabs, Silk Flower Accents, and High End Chocolate Brown ribbon acdcented with Zebra Striped Ribbon &  Green Bows.  I like that the diapers come in size 1-2 rather than newborn because many infants outgrow the newborn size very quickly.   I would love to see the company offer eco-friendly bath products for babies in place of the Johnson & Johnson’s (however, that seems to be the standard for babies).

I have to be honest in that I really didn’t want to take it apart when I received it.  It just looks so pretty.  But it’s also so functional that I can’t NOT use it.  If you’re looking for a unique gift idea that any new mom will appreciate, I highly recommend a diaper cake from Lil Baby Cakes.  Prices start at $34 and you can purchase a cake in a wide variety of styles and price options.  For something truly special, check out their custom diaper cakes.

I LOVE this company… when a girlfriend of mine had twins, I sent her the Twin Boys 4 Tier Diaper Cake, and she just adored it… not to mention, truly appreciated all the diapers. It is one of the most expensive things you need for new babies, so it is a great gift.
I agree with everything you said in your post. I will definitely give this gift again to someone I know that has a baby.
