Glass slippers, ball gowns, a horse-drawn carriage and a prince…It’s a story of rising above circumstances…of resolving to make your own happiness…and the universal truth that kindness and forgiveness are powerfully freeing. On March 13th, 2015, Disney will release a modern-day, live-action film inspired by the classic fairy tale Cinderella.
Starring Lily James as “Ella,” the film depicts the story of a young girl, who’s constrained to life as a servant girl after her merchant father’s death. Under the authority of her stepmother, Ella is subjected to cruel mistreatment and renamed Cinderella. In spite of her circumstances, Ella resolves to honor her mother’s dying words to “have courage and be kind.” A chance encounter with a dashing stranger and an invitation to the grand ball raises Ella’s hopes. But as the story goes, her wicked stepmother and jealous stepsisters dash her efforts to attend the ball by destroying her dress. Staying true to the classic, all hope is not lost when a kind beggar woman armed with a pumpkin and some mice change Cinderella’s life forever.
From the costumes and set design to an award-winning cast which includes Kenneth Branagh, Richard Madden, Cate Blanchett, and Helena Bonham-Carter, the film will bring the classic fairytale to life in a way that is relevant for audiences young and old.

Watching when I was a kid
I would love to attend, my daughter loves Cinderella. Her favorite part is when Cinderella runs from the ball and forgets her glass slipper! Hope we win!!
I’d love to see this
My two daughters love Cinderella, the favorite part is when the Mice help make the dress.
My favorite Cinderella moment was when my family volunteered to pay for a mom and 3 little girls to go to Disney World. I got them all Happy Birthday buttons from the ticket booth so all the cast members would say Happy Birthday to them all day and make them feel really special (it wasn’t really their Birthday). During the parade, Cinderella and her prince charming where passing on Main Street and when they seen the 3 little girls and their Happy Birthday buttons, they stopped the entire parade, got off the float and walked over and wished them all Happy Birthday. It was the best gift ever for everyone!
