Today we spent the entire day making memories together at one of our local amusement parks. With temperatures upwards of 90 degrees, I can only imagine what kind of summer we’ll be expecting here in Southern California. I’ve never been a worshipper of the sun, mostly because my olive skin darkens intensely when exposed to those shining rays. In fact, I actually tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to sun exposure because I know that skin cancer is widely prevalent in the US and very preventable.
So what type of sunscreen is optimal for my skin type?
As a Latina woman, I understand that my skin is different. I have more melanin than most, and a facial skin type that falls into the combination category (mostly dry with a T-Zone that can get oily throughout the day). I tend to scar easily, the result being dark spots that are nearly impossible to get rid of. As I get older, I have become increasingly aware of the need to protect my skin, not only from the sun’s cancer-causing rays, but it’s ability to hasten the process of aging via fine lines and wrinkles.
Amway recently introduced a new facial sunscreen called Artistry Time Defiance UV Defense SPF 50. This is a sunscreen that goes beyond protection from sun damage, working to help reduce the appearance of existing dark spots, discolorations, and redness.
What makes Artistry Time Defiance UV Defense SPF 50 different?
This particular facial sunscreen features an exclusive Balanced Brightening Complex which includes 10 natural plant extracts (white tea, chamomile, bitter orange) known for their brightening, soothing, and antioxidant properties. The result is that skin will look brighter and retain it’s moisture.
Artistry understands that each woman, regardless of skin color, has different skin care needs, and it’s new facial sunscreen was designed to address some of the most common skin care concerns for women of all ethnic backgrounds.
I am excited about trying out Artistry’s brand new facial sunscreen, mostly because I’d like to see what it can do for the dark spots I currently have on my face.

Now that I’ve turned the big 3-0, I’ve become more conscious of my skin. I especially want to be sure to keep my face moisturized and protected from the sun, but have yet to find the best product to accomplish those purposes. Perhaps Artistry is the way to go?
I have dry skin year round so I have to make sure to use *lots* of moisturizer! I’ve never tried powder foundation before but I think I might have to make the change from liquid for the summer 🙂
Too much sun is my concern
Making sure we all have a lot of extra sun protection.
My concern is getting too much sun and getting a bad sunburn.
finelines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, making sure wear sunscreen so skin protected!
I don’t like my “shiny” skin in summer.

Staying moisturized!
My skin is so fair, I worry about it burning and damage from the sun. Also, as I get older, I notice my skin is drier and needs more tlc.
