Monsters University Takeover At Club Penguin

Last weekend, Monsters University opened with honors, only superseded by Toy Story 3 in the history of Pixar. If you’ve already enrolled and are well-versed, why not head over to Club Penguin this week for extra credit?

Every month, the Club Penguin community hosts an island-wide event, typically themed. These parties are highly anticipated and involve a change in the appearance of buildings within Club Penguin.

In honor of Monsters University’s release, Pixar has partnered with Club Penguin for the very first time to throw an MU Takeover Event. Through July 9th, members can enroll in Monsters University and join the “Scare Games” by pledging one of three rival fraternities or the sole sorority. Those competing can dress up as their favorite monstrous character and earn scare points for their fraternity or sorority by testing out their roar and creeping around campus.

On July 6th, the winning fraternity or sorority will be announced and all of the players will collect the Scare Games Tophy. The Monsters University amphitheater will also be decorated with the wining team’s colors.

The Monsters University Takeover Event begins today, and here is an overview of what to expect:

• Players can fill up their scare canister with scare points in a brand new mini game where they will practice their loudest scares
• Players can show their team spirit by collecting fraternity and sorority hats
• Members will receive hats and accessories and the option of purchasing exclusive Monsters University costumes with their virtual coins
• New igloo items available for purchase in the Furniture Catalog include the Scoreboard, Scare Canister, Ping-Pong Table, Lounge Chair and Archway.
