7 Things You Must Do at Irvine Park Railroad During Christmas

Posted by Caryn Bailey 29 Comments

{Consideration provided by Irvine Park Railroad}

Irvine Park Railroad’s Christmas Train is the real start of my family’s holiday season. Pumpkins still line our porch and my kids are making Christmas lists. Such is Fall here in Southern California, where we trick-or-treat one night and wake up to Peppermint Mochas in the morning. As much as I love Fall, the holidays hold a special place in my heart for many reasons. From remembering all there is to be thankful for to celebrating the birth of my daughter, this is a season filled with memories that will live in my kids hearts forever.

Santa With Train - Irvine Park Railroad

A visit to the North Pole has become one of our most cherished holiday traditions. My kids love the opportunity to share their hopes and wishes with Santa Claus. Beginning December 1st, 2016, Irvine Park Railroad will transform into a Winter Wonderland complete with Christmas stories, cookie decorating, a festive display of lights, and a visit with Santa Claus.

Irvine Park Railroad Makes Christmas Joy

As you plan your visit to the Christmas Train, here are 7 Things You Must Do At Irvine Park Railroad During Christmas.

  1. Ice Fish.  New this year, families can ice fish for a chance to win a prize.
  2. Enjoy the carnival games at Santa’s Village.
  3. Decorate a Christmas Cookie. Everything you need, including sprinkles, frostings, and gel is available to make the magical cookie of your dreams!
  4. Listen to a Christmas Story. Mrs. Claus will read a Christmas story to ring in the holiday season.
  5. Navigate your way through Frosty’s Maze.
  6. Take the Christmas Train to the North Pole. This is where you’ll meet Santa and have an opportunity to warm up with hot chocolate and snacks from the Elf House Snack Bar. On your way back, you’ll ride through the Tunnel of Lights.
  7. Take a photo with Santa Claus. Remember to dress for the occasion and bring your camera. You can also purchase a 5×7 photo with an Irvine Park Railroad frame, if desired.
