Last month, I had the privilege of visiting LEGOLAND for a media preview of A Clutch Powers 4-D Adventure. Before I get into a review of the film, I have to tell you about how much fun the park is. This was our second visit, and by far, the most enjoyable. We visited the park last year with some friends, but our little boy was just a bit young for the park. LEGOLAND, located in Carlsbad, California, is a park geared towards children ages tow through twelve. It features over 50 family rides, attractions, and shows. Visually, the park is by far the most unique I’ve yet to see. As it is, I’m fascinated with those colorful little building bricks. Imagine an entire theme park built using standard LEGO bricks! All of the buildings, landscapes an vehicles were built using those bricks.
Many of the rides do not have a minimum height requirement and I would definitely recommend checking out their interactive map to plan your day. My son’s two favorite rides were the Volvo Junior Driving School (shhh…he’s almost 3) and Fairy Tale Brook. My favorite part of the park is Miniland USA, reproductions of seven US areas constructed using 20 million LEGO bricks in 1:20 scale. They look so much like their respective cities…just on a smaller level.
On May 28, the world’s first and only LEGOLAND Water Park will open to the public. The Water Park is geared towards families with young children and features water slides, a family raft slide, enclosed tube slides, toddler slides, a zoo-themed water lay area for toddlers and an interactive water play zone. The Build-A-Raft river is a lazy river where guests float on their own custom-built LEGO raft. I am so excited about it’s debut!
One day admission to LEGOLAND is $67. However, they offer several Hopper passes which I feel are value priced.
Adjacent to the park you’ll find the Sea Life Aquarium. This highly interactive aquarium features play zones, hands-on encounters, shows, and feedings. The LEGO accents add to the uniqueness of the aquarium. Check out my Whrrl from our fun-filled day at the park:
The purpose of our visit to LEGOLAND was to preview A Clutch Powers 4-D Adventure. Here is a brief summary of the film:
When there’s a job to be done, or an adventure to be had, you can bet that Clutch Powers will be there. Follow Clutch and his team in this edge of your seat 4-D action-packed show! A brand new LEGO character, Clutch Powers is the best builder and explorer in the LEGO universe! Clutch and his team head out on a mission where they are forced to battle with an evil Rock Monster. The movie features amazing 3-D effects combined with wind, water and snow for an action packed and fun 4-D adventure.
I have to admit that while the movie is full of adventure, my son is still a bit young for the film. I think the film is best suited for preschoolers who are a bit more familiar with the LEGO characters. It’s a 10 minute film and you can see the schedule online.
I did not receive compensation for this post. We received complimentary admission into the park to preview the film.
