One of the things I love about living in Southern California is the abundance of unique, local-centric activities.  This weekend, SoCal based retailer Active Ride Shop has partnered with TOMS Shoes to showcase the creativity of several local child artists, including pieces from students at Anneliese Schools in Orange County.  The show will also feature collaboratio... Disney has a way of taking it's animated films, which target younger audiences, and broadening their reach to appeal to adults and children of all ages, across time. Such is the case with Bambi, a film I've been watching since I was a child but is still very relevant today.

Last week, MSNBC reported that researchers from the University of Arizona identified E.coli amongst a host of other bacteria on shopping carts. Â I am honestly not surprised. Â Despite the number of times I wash and antibac my children's hands, they're still carrying around a number of microorganisms they've picked up from toys, doorknobs, and other surfaces they come... These days, it's much easier to get out of the house with two children. Â My 3 year old son is fully potty trained which means I don't have to tote nearly as many diapers, wipes, and extra changes of clothing. Â While I still need to pack a full diaper bag for days out with the two of them, I can get away with something smaller for short trips to the store or the park... Read More »

I remember my son's first birthday like it was yesterday. Â His love for trains started early, and it seemed fitting to celebrate in one of the old trains at Travel Town. Â For a first birthday party, it went surprisingly well and the kids really enjoyed the venue. Â For many children, their first birthday is their first exposure to cake, as was the case with my son. ... Read More »

Before I had children, I spent a lot of time in the car. Â I lived in LA and my commutes for work or leisure could very well be over an hour. Â Rather than stressing over the time I would spend sitting parked on the 405, I turned to music. Â I hooked my iPod up to my stereo and set up playlists from music I had downloaded from iTunes. Â Rather than just tolerating tha... Read More »

Despite what it may look like to most, I have thick, curly hair. Â I thank the inventor of flat irons and moroccan oil for my sleek and smooth, yet artificially straightened hair. Â I used to spend a lot of money on hair care products in hopes of smoothing the curls and taming the fr... Read More »

If I allowed it, my son would snack all day long. I wouldn't necessarily consider that harmful, except that his snack choices are often fruit snacks as opposed to fruit or baked potato chips instead of fresh cut veggies. Â I'm not opposed to snacking, as long as those snacks are not foods filled with empty calories and processed ingredients.

Of late, I've written a lot about how we stay healthy during cold and flu season. Many of the moms in my social network agree that illness has hit hard this winter and ironically, this week we're all sick! Â Probiotics are a staple in our household, and everyone except my husband gets a daily dose of the immune supporting substance.
Probiotic means "for life" and t... Read More »

During the winter, I find it particularly challenging to find creative, interesting things to do with my children. Â My son, in particular, won't be cooped up inside for long, so an activity that involves getting the wiggles out is always a plus.
There are an abundance of indoor play spaces in Southern California. Â What makes Endless Food and Fun unique is that it... Read More »

It's starting to feel real. Â In two weeks, I will be heading to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando for a conference I've been anticipating since I first learned of it over a year ago. Â Leave it to Disney to take something as ordinary as a conference and infuse it with social media brilliance and magic.
I still don't have all of the details regarding Disney S... Read More »
