Do you remember your school field trips? Or perhaps more recently your children’s school field trips? I always looked forward to field trip days where we’d go to the local zoo, park, or aquarium. Field trips, in some ways, are a luxury…particularly if your child attends a public school. According to the American Association of School Administrators, the number of school districts that will eliminate field trips this year will increase by 56 percent (that’s 30,000 schools!).
Field trips offer children a unique learning opportunity. The visual, tactile experience of getting out of the classroom cannot be replicated by reading a book or hearing a teacher speak (although these are also important learning activities). Lunchables recently announced a new campaign, called Field Trips For All, designed to help children go on educational, inspirational field trip adventures. Through this campaign, 50 classrooms across the country will go on amazing field trips to places like the Kennedy Space Center or the San Diego Zoo.
Now through June 1st, you can visit the website to nominate a classroom to win a field trip through this campaign.
