Where to Visit Santa in Orange County

Posted by Caryn Bailey Leave a Comment

Visit With Santa

A visit with Santa is always a special moment in our family. There is nothing quite like seeing the innocent awe and wonder in my child’s eyes when they share their Christmas wishes with Saint Nick. While Santa can be found in shopping centers across the county, we have found that the Christmas Train at Irvine Park Railroad is an enduring experience unlike any in Orange County.

Santa and Mrs Claus

This year, Santa will arrive on November 27th, 2015 for a season filled with holiday magic, memories, wishes, and dreams. Your family’s adventure begins with a ride through Irvine Regional Park to the North Pole to meet Santa Claus. Children can take a photo and share their wish list with Santa, and then ride back through the magical Tunnel of Lights for festive holiday cheer at Santa’s Village.

Holiday Activities at Santa’s Village

I recommend planning to spend at least one full evening at Irvine Park to enjoy all of the activities offered during the holiday season. Free activities include Story Time with Mrs. Claus, Christmas Coloring, and Picture Stands to document your holiday memories. The park will also host a variety of ticketed events including Christmas Carnival Games, Christmas Cookie Decorating, a Santa Bounce House and Ice Fishing. Each activity require 1 ticket which can be purchased on-site for $5 each (or purchase a book of 15 for $60 and save $15).

What You Need To Know About The Christmas Train

The most important suggestion I can offer is to buy tickets early. Some nights have already sold out and tickets for the train can only be purchased in advance online. Dates are available from November 27th through December 23rd, 2015.

Tips for Visiting The Christmas Train at Irvine Park Railroad

  • Despite our warm winters, I always find it a bit chilly at the park, so be sure to dress warm, preferably in layers.
  • Bring a camera. You can also opt to purchase the 5″ x 7″ photo taken by the park for $10.
  • Encourage your children to bring their Wish List for their visit with Santa.
  • Opt for an early train to allow for plenty of time to visit Santa’s Village.
  • Pick out your family Christmas tree at Irvine Park Railroad’s Christmas Tree Ranch.
  • Arrive after 5 pm and you’ll enjoy free parking!
