Because I was one of the last in my circle of friends to get married, I gleaned wisdom and garnered support from those women who went before me. Despite my persistent and exhaustive study of pregnancy, it was those friends that I actually learned the most from. They provided insight on everything from pregnancy woes to newborn glows. They also helped outfit our little bundles with gently used clothing that their own children had outgrown.
In the five years I’ve been a parent, I have come to understand how quickly children grow. A few months ago, my son had a growth spurt and his teacher actually commented on his height because it was so noticeable. I had been wondering why his new shirts seemed better suited for a toddler than the preschooler he had become. In a matter of weeks, the new wardrobe I had put together was a thing of the past and the sole thought in my mind was who I could gift with at least a bag full of practically new/gently used clothing.
If you’ve ever struggled with what to do with your child’s gently used clothing, or are tired of the endless amount of money spent on children’s clothing, you’ll appreciate Totsy‘s new parntership with thredUP, a company that allows you to mail in the clothes your child has outgrown. When you fill up a thredUP bag (I received a few with my recent orders), you fill it up and mail it in (postage is paid for). Once thredUP determines the value of the clothes you sent in, you’ll receive Totsy credit!
Not on is this an easy way to deal with gently used clothing, you’re getting a bonus to help outfit your child in subsequent years.
