It’s no secret that I love to travel. From the moment we stepped off of the plane in Rome that hot summer day, I knew that I wanted to see as much of the world as possible. My family and I have shared many memories all over the world. We’ve learned about cultures and history, explored cities via every means of transportation possible, tasted foods from across the globe, and immersed ourselves in some of the most beautiful places in the world. Despite our extensive travel, there are still many, many places I’d like to visit…with my mother…with my husband…with my children. In fact, I was so inspired by all of the places I’ve been that I created a Pinterest board…it’s my dream board of all the places I’d like to visit (and a few that I’d like to return to if given the opportunity).

What is your happy place? Is it a far off destination? Something close and accessible by car? For me, my happy place is anywhere that includes my family. Some days I dream of lounging on a remote beach in an exotic location…other days I long to go back to Walt Disney World to explore all of the lands we’ve yet to see.

Because we have small children, we often opt for destinations that are accessible via car. This gives us the freedom to make stops along the way, bring whatever we need for our kids, and make changes to our itinerary as we see fit. Very often when we take a road trip, we’ll rent a car so as not to put miles and wear and tear on our personal vehicles. I also like the fact that I can often rent a relatively new vehicle and not worry about maintenance and such.
