As we are driving home from Veggie Grill at Irvine Spectrum, my son interrupts a conversation I am having with a friend detailing our meal. “Wait…the Chicken Nuggets weren’t REAL?” We have been visiting the plant-based, fast-casual restaurant since my son was a toddler, so I assumed that at some point we had discussed the fact that the entire menu is vegan. Apparently, that fact got lost in translation, and for years my kids thought they were eating meat-rich meals…a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to providing healthy, plant-based food that looks and tastes as good as meat-based dishes. Veggie Grill just launched their new summer menu, which re-imagines classic dishes and inventive ways to use vegetables.
Veggie Grill
I happened upon Veggie Grill during that stent in my life when I was committed to following a strict vegan diet. Eliminating all animal-based foods from my diet was daunting, so I appreciated the fact that I could walk into my local Veggie Grill and order anything off the plant-based menu. While I slowly re-introduced fish, dairy, and eggs back into my diet, I still enjoy frequenting our local restaurant because the dishes are absolutely delightful. I have dined with meat-loving friends who thoroughly enjoyed the dishes at Veggie Grill.
Veggie Grill’s plant-based menu includes items prepared with vegetables, fruits, grains, and nuts. The ingredients they use are fresh and seasonal, inspiring guests to live and feel better about the food they are eating. I also appreciate the fact that I can enjoy a fresh salad or a juicy “burger,” depending on what I am craving.
