It goes without saying that groceries comprise a major part of our budget.  In order to save as much as possible, I cut coupons (when it makes sense), peruse each of our local stores’ ads, comparison shop, and work hard not to deviate from “the list.”  If your local grocery store offers a club card or weekly deals via email, I recommend signing up as an additional way to save on your bill.

Publix,  one of the most popular supermarket chains in the Southeast, is currently running a promotion where you can get a $5 gift card with any $30 purchase from one of the following brands (please see websites for specific product details):

General Mills

Charmin

Totino’s

Pillsbury

Betty Crocker

Tide

Crest

Aussie

Herbal Essences

Luv’s

Purchases must be made between May 16th and June 2nd to quality for the gift card.  Publix offers additional ways to save on their website, including an iPhone app.  One of the tips I like and try to stick to is purchasing store brands when feasible.  You can check out more ways to save on Publix.

  1. Best tip for saving money, at Publix, stock up on items that are BOGO and use coupons on those items to make the total really cheap!

  57. My best shopping tip is to look over the flyer before you go. Publix has it on their website. Then you can look to see if you have coupons before you are at the store.

  63. I love Publix and shop there 2 to 3 times every week. My tip is look for their great BOGO and 2fer sales. Also, I use many of the Publix brand items.

  67. I save money by sticking to a list, and by not purchasing convenience/prepackaged items.
