Do you have Labor Day weekend plans? We’re actually aiming to spend a low-key weekend glamping (seriously!), swimming, grilling, and relaxing. Whether you’ll be in town or on the road, Saturday night is Family Movie Night and P&G and Walmart have teamed up to bring families across the country another evening of wholesome, entertaining programming.
This Saturday, September 3 at 8/7c, set your DVR or sit down as a family to watch Game Time: Tackling the Past. The film, which stars Ryan McPartlin (from Chuck), Beau Bridges, and Catherine Hicks (from Seventh Heaven), chronicles the journey of pro football star Jake Walker (Ryan McPartlin). He’s one season away from setting a record that will land him a spot in the Hall of Fame. At the height of his career, he gets the call that changes his life. His father is in the hospital, recovering from a heart attack. Jake returns to his small hometown to face his past, reconnect with his family and the community he left when he opted to pursue his career in pro football. While in Riverton, he learns that his contract won’t be renewed and he’s forced to choose between the career he loves or the people who matter most.
The film is a touching reminder of the importance of relationships. There is an emphasis on teamwork, integrity, and sportsmanship, all valuable lessons for children and young adults. I love the fact that the films are suitable for the entire family and offer teachable moments and life lessons that can be discussed long after the film has been watched. P&G and Walmart are committed to wholesome content and ensure that even the commercials are family-friendly.
Game Time: Tackling the Past premieres Saturday, September 3rd at 8/7c on NBC.
