About the film:

SpongeBob SquarePants, his best friend Patrick, and the Bikini Bottom gang are back in their most epic adventure yet! This origin story details how SpongeBob met Gary the Snail and his quest to rescue him when he goes missing. Upon discovery of his disappearance, a path of clues leads SpongeBob and Patrick to the powerful King Poseidon, who has Gary held captive in the Lost City of Atlantic City. On their mission to save Gary, SpongeBob and his pals team up for a heroic and hilarious journey where they discover nothing is stronger than the power of friendship.

While the film is purely entertaining, families will appreciate the themes of friendship and courage SpongeBob and his friends portray. And with humor that spans generations, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is the perfect family movie.

The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run is the first of the three films to be fully animated in CGI. The film also includes live action scenes with Keanu Reeves, Snoop Dogg, and Danny Trejo. Dedicated to the creator Stephen Hillenburg, who died in 2018, the film is an authentic homage to the original series.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is now available on Premium Video-On-Demand (PVOD) and Paramount+.
