The Perfect Christmas Tablescape

Christmas is one of the few times throughout the year that I will bring out my nice dinnerware for our family’s meal. Much time is often spent preparing Christmas dinner and it’s best showcased against a festive, wintery tablescape. With just a few pieces from my local Walmart and some items I already have, I put together the perfect Christmas Tablescape. Not only is this setting for your next Christmas dinner easy and affordable, it’s uber kid-friendly.

Christmas Tablescape Supplies

To begin, I went into my cabinet to find dinnerware, flatware and glasses that were classy enough to use for a holiday meal, but versatile enough to be paired with Better Homes and Gardens’ latest Gold Snowflake line of dinnerware. If you’re looking for elegant dinnerware, Better Homes and Gardens’ Porcelain Dinner Plate With Metallic Rim serves as a beautiful backdrop for your Christmas Tablescape. You can pick up a set of 8 and use them throughout the year. Simply change out the salad and appetizer plates to match the theme of your meal.

Christmas Table Setting

One of my favorites from Better Homes and Gardens’ Holiday Line include the Gold Snowflake design.  I picked out coordinating salad and appetizers plates to compliment my dinner plate. Finish your place setting with Better Homes and Gardens Metallic Snowflakes napkins and Bronze Finish Napkin Rings.

If your table is wood, you don’t necessarily need a tablecloth, unless you want to protect it from scratches and marks during meals. I personally prefer the use of a simple table runner to create an elegant tablescape. I picked up Better Homes and Gardens Whimsical Trees Decorative Runner, which features a similar snowflake motif that coordinated well with my dinnerware.

Living Snow Tree

Add in flatware and glasses of your own and your Christmas Tablescape is nearly complete. Since my goal was to create a winter look that would be suitable for Christmas, I included a Living Snow Tree, and decorated it with wintery mini snow pails filled with mini candy canes and each of my guests’ names.

Mini Candy Canes

The tree is a great way to display place cards without detracting from the elegance of your table scape.
