Wasn’t it just yesterday that he was rolling over…learning how to walk…struggling to take all of those little thoughts and share them with the world? My soon-to-be first grader is growing up way too quickly. In fact, he’s even talking about what he wants to be when he grows up!
When I grow up, I want to be a scientist because they are cool and they invent stuff. Before I become a scientist I need to learn how by going to school. I like to build models and I hope that will make me learn how to be a scientist.
If I were to become a scientist I would invent things that would help people. I hope I can invent a flying car so I can get to places faster. I also want to invent a robot who will do anything I tell him to do.
For a 6 year old, I think he has a pretty good handle on what a scientist does and I love how his motivation involves helping people. Perhaps he inherits that caring nature from his mom : ).
In anticipation of the school year, The Children’s Place is inspiring children to dream big. They recently launched their Cash for Class Contest and the prize is phenomenal…a $10,000 check to help pay for college tuition.
Entering is easy! Simply submit a 100-word essay (and your child’s drawing in their future career if you’d like) and complete their short from before September 30th, 2013 for your child’s chance to win. In addition to the grand prize, The Children’s Place will also give away a $10,000, $5,000, and $2500 check plus a $1,000 gift card to their store.
