My son’s admiration for superheroes began at a very young age, and I can distinctly remember the costume he picked out 3 years ago which completely transformed him into a masked, web-slinging, crime fighting hero. His Spider-Man action figure is one of his favorite toys. and with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 now available on Blu-ray and DVD, I foresee a superhero movie night.
In the second installment of this popular Marvel Comics franchise, Spider-Man comes face-to-face with a new villain Electro, a foe more powerful than him and his greatest challenge yet. When his old friend Harry Osborn returns, Spider-Man realizes the connection between all of his enemies: Oscorp as new clues about his past are uncovered. Be a Hero Contest
In honor of the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Walmart has partnered with Sony to host the Be a Hero Contest which encourages students to create a video explaining why their school is amazing. Once your video is created, simply tweet the link to the video using the hashtag #BeAHeroContest. FIVE grand prize winners will receive a visit from Spider-Man to his/her school, $1000 in Scholastic books, a year supply of Elmer’s glue sticks and a year supply of Crayola Crayons. 250 first prize winners will receive a recorded PA announcement from Spider-Man, Scholastic books, 10 Elmer’s glue sticks, and 10 packages of Crayola Crayons. Tips for Shooting Your Video
- Think about the type of video you want to create and write out some goals/ideas. You might even write out a brief script to organize your thoughts although you won’t want to read it verbatim when creating your video.
- Choose a quiet, well-lit area with a background free free from clutter or distractions.
- Be sure to “open” with a brief, but compelling introduction and “close” with a call to action, and always let your personality shine.
- Make it concise. Most viewers won’t watch videos longer than 1 to 1 1/2 minutes.
- If you are new to editing, try to shoot your video in one take.
