Thank You! There’s An App For That!

I remember the time my mom threatened to send me to etiquette classes. I was a teenager and a few weeks had lapsed since my birthday party. I still had not sent out thank you notes and my mother made sure I understood why it was so important to thank people for the time and money they spent celebrating me. My mother was insistent on timeliness and gratitude, and sending thank you notes was non-negotiable. As an adult, I’ve carried those life lessons into all aspects of my life including my parenting. My own children know that once we’ve celebrated their special day and opened presents, a personalized thank you note should follow soon after.

Thank You Note

Admittedly, I can be a traditionalist. I love a handwritten note and the joy of receiving a card in the mail is not lost. But we live in an age where technology makes it easy to do practically anything from our smart phones. And my schedule is admittedly busy and every parent I talk to feels the same way. Which is why I love the idea of sending a personalized thank you from my phone in less than 5 minutes!

Thank You…There’s an App For That!

Thankr is a brand new “thank you” app now available on iOS and Android platforms. The free app makes it easy to thank the people you love with personalized video and photo messages. Admittedly, the thought of sitting down to write 10-15 thank you notes can feel daunting with my schedule as complicated as it is.

Digital Thank You Note

Thankr makes it easy to recognize the big and little things friends and family members do for me in minutes. Plus, your recipient does not need to have the app in order to receive their thank you message. In addition to birthdays, baby showers, graduation and Mother’s Day/Father’s Day, you can send messages of appreciation for the little things in life like playdates, dinner at a friend’s house, assistance with moving, and more.

Swim Lessons Thank You Note

Our family is dispersed across the country, so very often we are communicating over Skype or FaceTime. As a way to keep my kids’ grandparents involved with their lives, I often share photos with them via social media or text. This week, we decided to create a few thank you notes for all of the gifts and experiences my kids receive from their grandparents. One of the best gifts they have given my children is swim lessons. A few years back, my kids, specifically my son, was afraid of the water. Both of them are now on a swim team and getting them out of the water at the end of our swim time is my biggest challenge.

The art of saying thank you is not lost. And thanks to Thankr, saying thank you has never been easier or more fun. Download the free app today to show appreciation for the big and small things in life. You can also stay up to date via Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.
