Have I told you how much I like European-made products? I think so! : ) After spending almost a year traveling around Europe, I became spoiled partial to the innovative way that the Europeans design products. Several weeks ago I had a chance to see the Taga in action:
So what is a Taga? (from the site)
Taga is a multifunctional urban vehicle, uniquely designed to suit the needs of today’s parents and children. Taga combines the benefits of a premium stroller and a carrier bicycle to create a new transportation modality.
This is the most unique design I’ve seen in a stroller OR a bike! At first glance two questions came to mind: How much is it? and Will it fit in a Camry (or other sedan)?
At $1495, it’s definitely priced higher than a stroller. However, when you take into account that it’s also a bike, the price makes more sense. A Taga will carry you beyond the stroller years.
After the rep broke it down, I was pretty convinced it could possibly fit in my trunk (but he wouldn’t let me take it home to try…hehe!). So while I *think* it would fit (according to the rep), I can’t confirm that!
What I like most about the Taga is it’s versatility. It can be converted into a double, an infant car seat can be attached to it, it can be converted into a shopping basket, and a wooden double seat (like the second picture above). It should be noted that some features are an additional cost.
One of the selling points of the Taga is that you could use it in place of a car. I could definitely see that being feasible in, say, Edinburgh (where my husband and I lived), but in Southern California, I definitely still need a car.
Taga is launching in mid-April in both the USA and Canada! For more information, including product specifications, just visit their site.

Totally cool. I’ve mentioned the Taga on my Tuesday Tours column before. I want one. I do.
{Now if only they weren’t so expensive!} 🙂
