My parents purchased my first pair of boots when I was a tween. I was just starting as a “Trooper First Class” in our local mounted drill team and I had my sights set on a classy pair of Justin Boots. Along with being the embodiment of authentic cowgirl culture, those boots were built to last. Long after my horseback riding days, those boots still have life in them, so they sit at my parents house in the event that one day my daughter might have inherited some of her mother’s sense of wild adventure.
I traded in my riding adventures for park days and creative play with my kids, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have boot envy. Regardless of the boot, there is something classic and feminine about pairing the two. Anticipating the Fall season where you’ll find me wearing boots for nearly every occasion, I thought it was time to update my boot style with these Ugg Jaspan Boots from Country Outfitter. Ugg is one of my all-time favorite shoe brands and I have to say I’m loving the expansion of their brand beyond their traditional sheepskin boot to include fashion boots.
While my staple Fall/Winter outfit is a pair of skinny jeans, a long-sleeved tee, and a pair of boots, I thought I’d experiment with one of the hottest fashion trends and pair these Jaspan Boots with 3 different dresses:
In the Summer, I stick with short dresses like this Crochet A-Line Dress I picked up from American Rag. Turquoise and chocolate always pair nicely together and the length of the dress ensures that the entire boot is visualized and appreciated.
When I’m aspiring towards a more feminine look, I opt for silky fabrics and delicate prints, like this Chevron Hanky Hem Dress I picked up a few weeks ago on clearance! My Jaspan boots contribute to a bold fashion statement without taking away from the delicate femininity I’m striving for with this look.
