One of the many things we love about living in Southern California is our close proximity to the ocean. Couple that with our relatively temperate weather and we could really be at the beach most months of the year. My children love all things aquatic and one of the best ways to enjoy the ocean is to be in it!
This Fall, Strictly Sail Long Beach returns for a weekend of educational, hands-on activities designed to introduce families to boating and sailing. Along with offering hands-on educational clinics on maintenance, repairs, sailing and boating safety, this 4-day immersive weekend will include free sailing lessons, activities, and a dockside party complete with free pizza.
Families won’t want to miss the activities presented at the Try It Cove. This is where attendees can try out entry-level sailboats, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and more. And in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pinky, a sailboat built by the International Marine as a breast cancer fund raise will be available for anyone over the age of 10 to ride. *Tip* Be sure to bring a swimsuit and towel for water activities.
After a long day of being in and on the water, Strictly Sail will host a Cruisers’ Party featuring free food and drinks, live music, and giveaways. You must be inside the show before it closes in order to attend.
Admission to Strictly Sail Long Beach is $10 for adults and free for youth under 15 accompanied by an adult. The show runs October 24th through 27th (Thursday and Friday from 12 pm to 7 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm). For more information, visit StrictlySailLongBeach.com
