Our latest visit to Disneyland for the debut of Season of the Force has us on the edge of our seats as we await the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. For the past several months, we’ve been re-watching our favorite films and generally upping our Star Wars knowledge in anticipation of the film’s release. My son’s excitement grows daily, and being the gaming enthusiast he is, he couldn’t wait to try Star Wars Battlefront for the very first time at Walmart.
Developed by EA, Star Wars Battlefront immerses families in the worlds of one of the most iconic film series to date. This action-packed game affords players the option of switching between a first and third person view to travel and navigate through destinations in the Star Wars Universe including Endor, Hoth, Tattooine, and the new planet of Sullust. The main mode of transportation is a series of vehicles which include speederbikes and AT-ATs. Also distinct is the ability to customize the characters and their abilities, their gear and weapons. As new weapons are unlocked, they can be shared with teammates.
Feeling the ominous thud of an AT-AT stomping down on the frozen tundra of Hoth. Rebel forces firing blasters as Imperial speeder bikes zip through the lush forests of Endor. Intense dogfights between squadrons of X-wings and TIE fighters filling the skies.
Players can opt to control either a Rebel Alliance soldier or an Imperial Stormtrooper and play as one of many renowned characters from the original film (Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Leia Organa, Han Solo, The Emperor). This is the game Star Wars fans have dreamed of where epic battles both new and old can be imagined and re-lived. Star Wars Battlefront launches on November 17th and is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC for $59.98 at Walmart. The Deluxe Edition ($69.8) unlocks 5 in-game items including instant access to the DL-44 blaster, the Ion Grenade, Ion Torpedo, and exclusive emotes for Ion Shock and Victory.
