In less than two weeks, we’ll be celebrating mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and friends. Mother’s Day is around the corner and I’m already starting to think about what I can do to show the special women in my life how much they mean to me. And, with spring here, I’m also looking to revamp my wardrobe, particularly my shoe collection. I am an avid shopper, and before children, it was not uncommon for me to buy something new for myself (whether it be shoes, clothing, or accessories) once or twice a month.
When I’m looking for trendy accessories or upscale threads, I like to shop at Bloomingdale’s. The department store, with locations nationwide, offers an impeccable selection of clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, accessories, beauty and skin care products, and housewares.
Because I haven’t done a ton of shopping since my kids were born, I went into the South Coast Plaza location a little undecided as to whether I would purchase a spring outfit or a pair of summer shoes. First, I headed to the third floor of the store which houses women’s swim-wear and lingerie, petites, young women, and designers. I went back and forth between the petite section and the young women’s sections and found an amazing selection of airy spring and summer dresses, upscale pant suits, and hip casual wear. Like many department stores, each designer is given a certain amount of space. While both the young women’s and designer sections have a general clearance section, I recommend looking at each specific brand as you’ll find sale and clearance items located there as well. And surprisingly, many of the pieces in the clearance section could be worn right now! One interesting thing I noted was that while browsing women’s fashions, I spotted signs on some of the racks which detailed a style tip specific to that wardrobe piece. This is helpful for coordinating outfits.
I didn’t have a lot of time to try on outfits since I had my youngest with me, so I decided to go down one level to the women’s shoe department. Shoes are the easiest item to shop for and likely my favorite shopping indulgence. Because I’m a California girl, 90% of the shoes I own are open-toed. Bloomingdale’s expansive shoe department features designers like Stuart Weitzman, Coach, Guess, Michael Kors, and many more. This is the perfect season to shop for sandals, flats, special occasion shoes, and more. I also found a small selection of boots and was very tempted to add to my Ugg collection! Alas, I decided on a gorgeous pair of Guess wedge sandals. They are comfortable, fashionable, and most importantly affordable! Right now the shoes are on sale for $55.99 (originally priced at $75.00). And, if I would have spent $100 or more, I could have received $25 off my purchase and an in-store gift card during their presale event. One last promotion worth mentioning is specifically for shoe lovers like myself. If you become a premier insider, you can earn 25% off the purchase of your sixth pair or full-priced women’s shoes through their Insider Shoe Club. In order to find out about presale events and offers like this one, be sure to inquire about becoming a Bloomingdale’s Insider.
