This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to the winner, Cherice!
While I don’t enjoy or expose my children to much of what Halloween traditionally represented, I still allow them to engage in some of the more lighthearted activities like dressing up, carving a pumpkin, baking, and trick-or-treating. My son particularly enjoys dressing up like his favorite characters, even in the middle of summer when we’re months away from Halloween.

Last year, my son dressed as Buddy from the hit PBS Kids series Dinosaur Train. The costume, which was the talk of the entire preschool, is adorable and realistically created so that tots like my son feel like they are truly Buddy or Tiny from the Dinosaur Train. And unlike most costumes, Buddy and Tiny are made from soft fabrics so that children aren’t uncomfortable. Buddy is vibrant in orange and Tiny is colorful and bring in green. The costumes each include a jumpsuit, hood, and shoe covers and are available in select toddler and kid’s sizes.
If you’re ambitious, you could attempt to make your child a Dinosaur Train-themed costume, created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.
One of the things my son enjoys is reading books about the characters he sees on the screen. The Spooky Scavenger Hunt by Grosset & Dunlap, which was released in August, follows the adventures of Buddy and Tiny on a nighttime trip to the Big Pond for a spooky nature walk.
This October, PBS Kids will air a new episode of Dinosaur Train. The episode will air on the 20th with repeated showings on the 24th, 28th, 30th, and 31st. In Haunted Roundhouse, the kids meet a new nocturnal creature who is hiding out at the roundhouse which as been decorated as a haunted house. In Big Pond Pumpkin Patch, the kids see their first pumpkins and learn how to carve them.
Win It! One of you will win a Dinosaur Train Buddy costume (3-4 year olds). Simply leave me a comment with one reason why you like the show. Comments will close on October 13th at 11:59 PM PST.

My kids and I enjoy the show because it teaches kids that even though you might not look the same you are still family and stick together. They really show how strong a family unit can be. And the education about all different kind of eras and dinosaurs. Very cute show.
