Shakespeare and the art of musical theatre converge in the original musical Something Rotten! The idea for the musical was conceived by brothers Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick and originates in the 1990s. Together with scriptwriter John O’Farrell, they wrote and presented several songs to producer Kevin McCollum. They then teamed up with director Casey Nicholaw to bring in actors as the show began to come to life.
Something Rotten!
Something Rotten! follows the story of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, two playwrights who find themselves in the shadow of William Shakespeare. When a soothsayer foretells the next big thing in theatre includes singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, the brothers set out to write the world’s very first MUSICAL! Filled with the most singing, dancing and gut-wrenching laughs on Broadway, the musical is something wonderful…and Something Rotten! Filled with glitz, glamour, and humor, Something Rotten! is a tribute to musicals and all they do to entertain and inspire audiences. Something Rotten! stars Rob McClure as Nick Bottom, Adam Pascal as Shakespeare, and Josh Grisetti as Nigel Bottom, all of who mare direct from Broadway.
