Last year my husband decided he wanted an iPhone. It was another wave in his obsession for all things Apple-inspired. Well, I had to draw the line somewhere…so I did…at $400! When our cell contracts expired, it was time for both of us to get new phones. He bought a smartphone while I opted out of all the bells and whistles. No sooner did my husband break-open his smartphone did buyer’s remorse set in. I too wanted a phone that could help me keep track of my son’s appointments, my work schedule, emails and to-do lists. Admittedly, I’ve developed a relationship with my cell phone.

Women are increasingly turning to technology to manage the everyday busyness that encompasses motherhood. Simply MobileMom is helping moms stay connected…literally! This new (and free!) software program allows you to send content directly to your phone, enabling access while you are away from your PC. Not only can you add content and access that content with your phone, you can share it with your friends and family. Here is just a snap shot of what I can do with this new program:

2. Go Yah-oo over my hundreds of daily emails
3. Show off my handsome boy!
4. Access my Whole Foods shopping list
5. Find out where BabyMama is playing
Adding content is easy. Trust me. I’m technologically challenged. With just one right-click I have access to my to-do list, step-by-step directions on how to get to the nearest Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and my mother-in-laws address (so I can send her Mother’s Day card out).
SimplyMobile Mom is available in two formats: SMS and Web. Since my phone is not a smartphone, I dowloaded the SMS version. It literally took me less than a day to figure it out. I receive my content as text messages that I am then able to download. Now I REALLY want a smartphone so I can try out the snazzy web version! The best part is that this program is free! Just be sure to check with your provider for text messaging rates as they do apply. The website is very informative so head on over and check it out! SimplyMobile Mom…for the mombot in all of us.
