See Chimpanzee, Save Chimpanzees This Earth Day Giveaway

I’m always thinking about what our family can do to be mindful of the environment and particularly purposeful about our actions during the month of April when we celebrate Earth Day. Apart from reducing your carbon footprint, there is something else you can do…something you may not have thought about as you go about your day to day activities.

For the fourth year in a row, Disneynature will release a brand new feature film nature documentary on Earth Day. The world’s top nature filmmakers will take viewers deep into the forests of Africa as they follow the true to life adventure story of Oscar, a young (and incredibly adorable) chimpanzee. I saw the Chimpanzee last week and was moved to tears by this remarkable story. The cinematography is absolutely breathtaking and the heart of the film is authentically Disney.

Disneynature Chimpanzee opens in theaters on April 20th, 2012 (Earth Day) and I encourage you to see it during opening week (April 20th through 26th). Disneynature has partnered with the Jane Goodall Institute for a very special program called See Chimpanzee, Save Chimpanzees. For every person who sees the film during opening week, Disneynature will make a donation to the Jane Goodall Institute through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to protect chimpanzees and their habitats.

This week, I’m heading to Orlando for a nature-filled week which will include the red carpet premiere of Disneynature Chimpanzee and a series of nature-themed activities with Global Resort Homes and Visit Kissimmee. You can follow along here: #DisneyGlobalEvent
