For the past 3 years, I’ve focused my efforts on ensuring I attend BlogHer, THE women’s blogging conference that brings bloggers from all walks of life together to “discuss, inspire, and connect with each other.” I will be attending the conference in San Diego this year and I’m very excited, given that it’s practically down the street from me! I don’t have a lot to compare the conference to, but in the last few years it’s definitely gotten bigger and at times, more difficult to “manage” as far as networking and relationship building. I’m hoping the San Diego location means it might be more like the 2008 conference which was held in San Francisco.
Last week, I attended BlogHer Food with several other Walmart Moms. The conference, which brings together some of THE best food bloggers in the industry, was simply amazing. It was small enough to build and develop relationships. The sessions, although definitely focused on food, were stimulating and I came away inspired. I can’t wait to share with you the photography tips I picked up!
Prior to the conference, I had an opportunity to mingle with some amazing food bloggers at RockHer, thanks to Susan from She’s Becoming Doughmesstic. If you’ve ever attended BlogHer, you know that it’s filled with private parties, many of them sponsored by brands. The incredible thing about this private party was the fact that Susan was so inclusive. I don’t think a single person who wanted to be invited was excluded.
Along with some incredibly delicious, gourmet food, Susan managed to round up a host of amazing sponsors including KitchenAid, ManPans, Guylian, Stonyfield, Tiny Prints, Midstate Mills, Tate’s Bake Shop, Coach’s Oats, Keurig, Le Creuset, Edgeware, Chicago Metallic, West Bend, Lucky Leaf, NordicWare, Beanilla, and many more.
Since I totally iPhone pic’d the event, the photos are not my favorite. I highly recommend checking out RockHer’s Facebook page for much better photos! : ) And do check out Susan’s blog…it totally rocks, just like she does.
No compensation was received for this post. A huge thank you to Susan from She’s Becoming Doughmesstic for the invite!
