Reduce, Reuse, Refresh With Refresh’n Dryer Towel!

Posted by Caryn Bailey Leave a Comment

Sometimes I feel like I spend so much time doing laundry.  Sorting, washing, folding, and putting away clothes for three people, can be very time consuming. There are times when I will wear jeans a few times before washing them if they’re not dirty.

I am always looking for ways to reduce my carbon footprint, and thanks to the Refresh‘n Dryer Towel, I can freshen up some of our lightly worn clothing while reducing the number of loads I wash. Did you know that one load of laundry consumes 40-50 gallons of water and 7 kwh of electricity?  Dry cleaning is expensive and not the “greenest” option either.  I’m actually starting to buy less clothing that requires dry cleaning because of the expense and toll on the environment.

The Refresh‘n Dryer Towel cleans and freshens previously worn, slightly dirty, odorized, lifeless, wrinkled clothing.  In approximately fifteen minutes, you’ll have freshly laundered, ready to wear clothing.  Apparently there are similar products on the market but this is the first I’ve heard of them.  The Refresh’n Dryer Towel differs in that it is all-natural and does not contain chemicals or fabric treatments.  It’s also safe on most fabrics and won’t shrink, spot, fade, or change the color on your clothing.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Refresh’n Dryer Towel can be used on select dry clean items.  I have actually laundered items labeled “dry clean only” without any ill effects but I try not to make a habit of it.  I will definitely look at using this product on some of those items.

I have to admit that when I first heard of the product I was a little hesitant.  I am all about “going green,” but when it comes to the way I look (and smell!) a full wash seems like the only way to achieve that.  I decided to take a pair of jeans I had worn once and see if the product lived up to it’s claims.  In about 15 minutes I pulled the jeans out of the dryer and I was surprised at how good they looked.  They didn’t have any wrinkles, odor, or dirt and I felt very comfortable putting them on right from the dryer.

So you’re probably wondering…How does it do that?  This 30’ by 30’ Velcro-like fabric creates steam in the dryer which kills bacteria and odor and traps lint, dust and dirt particles from clothing.  You simply saturate the towel, wring it out, and place it on top of up to 3 pieces of clothing.  Run the dryer for 10-15 minutes and you’re done!  It’s definitely much quicker than a load of laundry.  There have been so many times I’m on my way out scrambling to find that favorite pair of jeans or sweater only to find it wrinkled in the laundry hamper.  Rather than taking the time to wash it or finding a suitable alternative I can wear it in a matter of minutes.

One Refresh’n Dryer Towel retails for $9.95 and can be used up to 25 times (75 articles of clothing).  Use it consistently and you’ll save yourself $365 in dry cleaning costs, 700 gallons of water and 90 kwh of electricity.
