Reduce, Reuse, Recycline!

Posted by Caryn Bailey 1 Comment

Have you ever thought about where all of the plastic in the world ends up?  There was a time when I threw away anything and everything, not once paying attention to that little recycling symbol. Read this and you may want to rethink the next plastic anything you throw away.

Plastic is used in more products than you are probably even aware of because it is inexpensive, durable, and practically limitless in it’s varied usage. According to the Energy Information Administration, disposed plastics occupy 25% of landfill space and may take over 1 million years to disappear once buried.  Couple that with Americans’ low rates of recycling and you’ve got this to deal with!

Recent reports on the danger of plastics has had me re-examine the amount and type of plastics I use. Hats off to Recycline’s new line of Preserve products derived from 100% BPA and phthalate-free recycled plastics. Of course the entire line is recyclable, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

Thanks to Mom Central, we received a couple of Preserve toothbrushes to try.  Not only are these toothbrushes stylish (who doesn’t love a cute toothbrush!), they are innovative and inexpensive.  I tend to be an overzealous brusher (so much so that I have to be particularly cognizant not to brush my gumline away) so I found the soft bristles to be gentle yet effective.  I also like the curved handle (designed by dentists) as it allowed me to brush those hard to reach places!  I still find it truly amazing that my toothbrush was made from yogurt cups!

It’s way past time for us to replace our son’s finger brush so it looks like he’ll be getting a Tiger Preserve Jr. toothbrush!

So what do you do when it’s time to replace that toothbrush?  Don’t throw it away!  Download your postage-paid return label here and send those toothbrushes back.  They’ll live on as plastic lumber for park benches, decks, and more.

Preserve has an entire line of personal care and products and kitchen essentials, so check them out.

Preserve toothbrushes can be purchased at Target for $2.04.  What a bargain.  I’ve also seen them at Whole Foods and Henry’s Farmer’s Market.  Download a coupon for $1.00 off your purchase of 2 toothbrushes here.

Want to buy additional products in the Preserve line?   Save 15% when you purchase 4 products by clicking here.
