One of my son’s favorite experiences at the Disneyland Resort is the parade, a musical performance spectacular that merges his favorite Disney characters with colorful floats, dancing, and a bit of magic. The Pixar Play Parade debuted in 2008 at Disney California Adventure Park but took a hiatus in 2011 as the park underwent the final phases of it’s five-year expansion process. The parade, which features characters and floats from six renowned Pixar films, returned when the park reopened two weeks ago.
For 20 minutes, guests are taken on a lively, musical journey through their favorite films including Monster, Inc., The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, A Bug’s Life, Toy Story, and Cars. Festive floats, acrobatics, bungees, and more immerse children and adults in all-things Pixar. The park offers twice daily performances, each of which lasts 20 minutes. With the return of Pixar Play Parade comes an extended parade route that travels through Hollywood Land to Paradise Pier. Here are some photos I took during the parade:
The best locations to view the parade include Hollywood Land, Pacific Wharf and Paradise Pier.
With the reopening of Disney California Adventure Park comes a host of new entertainment. Stay tuned for more information on these experiences, including the new Mad T Party which now takes the place of ElecTRONica in Hollywood Land.
No compensation was received for this post. I was invited to the Disneyland Resort to preview Cars Land and Buena Vista Street but all opinions are solely that of the author.
