Just a couple of weeks after my mother had purchased brand new shoes for both of my kids, my son comes home from school, the front part of his shoe exposing his sock-covered toes. While I know my son is a boy who loves to run, jump, and play, I was hoping that a pair of $50 shoes would have lasted longer.

One of our long-time favorite children’s footwear brands is pediped, founded by a couple who wanted a comfortable, stylish shoe for their daughter’s developing feet. With over 120 designs, pediped offers three different shoe lines that can be worn both indoors and outside.

Here are a brief overview of the three styles offered:

Original: Designed for children 0-24 months of age, these are the perfect first shoes. Infants and toddlers learn to walk best when barefoot and these shoes mimic that while offering comfort and support.

Grip ‘n’ Go: This shoe features a soft rubber sole, rounded edges to mimic the shape of a child’s foot, heel stability, and a soft toe box to allow toes to grip the floor. This is the ideal shoe for the active toddler (9 months to 3 years of age), mastering the art of walking.

Flex: A cushioned arch support and a soft, flexible rubber sole characterize this shoe with a long wear life. Designed for children ages 1 to 8, this shoe is designed with the Flex Fit System to prolong wear.

One of the newer additions to pediped’s footwear line includes their cold weather boots for boys and girls. Available in 8 styles for girls and 3 styles for boys, the boots are fashionable and designed to withstand cold temperatures (to -20°C) to keep feet warm and dry. pediped’s new line of boots also feature rugged, self-cleaning soles and a gusseted tongue, for maximum durability and comfort.
