Musical Theatre West Presents Damn Yankees

Baseball and musical theater converge in Musical Theatre West’s production of Damn Yankees. This musical comedy dates back to 1955 and is a modern retelling of the Faust legend. Based on Douglas Wallop’s 1954 novel The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant, Damn Yankees is set in Washington, D.C. in the 1950s when the New York Yankees dominated Major League Baseball. The original production of Damn Yankees won seven Tony Awards including Best Musical. Middle-aged baseball fanatic Joe Boyd trades his soul to the Devil for a chance to lead his favorite team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees. With a score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, this sports-inspired musical comedy is an American classic.

Damn Yankees was last performed by Musical Theatre West 26 years ago and is the perfect production for baseball and musical theater enthusiasts. The incredibly talented cast stems from Broadway, West End, off-Broadway shows, national tours, TV, film, and more.

This production features elevated dance moves and fan-favorite numbers from the 1958 film. Directed by Cynthia Ferrer and music by Matthew Smedal, Damn Yankees is certain to knock it out of the park!

Tickets to Musical Theatre West’s production of Damn Yankees range in price from $20 – $96 and are available online now at musical.org. There are also a limited number of tickets available on Goldstar starting at $26. Showtimes are as follows:
