School is out and this week marks the official start to the Summer season. I really took for granted all of the freedom we had when my son was in preschool and am loving our more laid back schedule. My husband and I have a ton of fun things planned for our kids including staycations, vacations, and field trips both near and far.
In the Spring, we had an opportunity to check out all of the new excitement happening at the LEGOLAND Resort. It had been some time since our last visit to the SEA LIFE Aquarium, so we spent an afternoon learning about the wonders of the ocean and underwater world. While there, I happened to notice for the first time that the aquarium offers a variety of events and activities including age/grade-specific field trips, camps (including those specifically targeting Girl Scouts), and more.
Mommy and Me Under the Sea is the aquarium’s newest programs, designed for children ages 2-5. This special experience includes play activities, animal crafts, mini creature exploration, and staff-led education programs, including a tour. I personally think this is a wonderful way to introduce young children to the creatures that live underwater in a way that is meaningful, engaging, and fun.
Mommy and Me Under the Sea occurs every Tuesday and Wednesday and reservations (required) can be made online. For more information or to see what’s new at LEGOLAND Sea Life Aquarium, just visit their website.
