We have a beautiful crib sitting in our bedroom that’s never been slept in by our daughter. As attachment parents, our children co sleep with us. How long is still the question, since some nights our three year old gets thrown in the mix. My daughter is an excellent nighttime sleeper, but isn’t the best at taking naps in the crib or pack and play. She’s grown so accustomed to falling asleep next to us that I’ve noticed she’s been having difficulty taking naps and staying asleep long enough to benefit from those naps.
As part of Infantino’s Test Drive Team, we had an opportunity to check out the new Firefly Soother. Designed to be used in infancy, the Firefly Soother combines lights, music, and motion with soothing rhythms and nature sounds to help your baby or tot sleep. It conveniently attaches to most cribs and can be used for sleep or entertainment. An older tot could use it as a nightlight.
My daughter is very fascinated with the dancing bugs, so we’ve been using it more for entertainment than for sleep. I like the option of providing sounds or music and the fact that it can serve as a nightlight. It’s actually stimulates multiple senses (sight, sound, touch) which is important for babies who are learning about their environment. My son has actually wanted to play with it, but we’re teaching him that it’s better to share (hehe).
The Firefly Soother retails for $39.99 and is available for purchase at Amazon, Step2, and Target.
I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products as part of my participation.
